cd auto playback- haven't seen this particular rob addressed yet

Hey

Every time I insert a cd, winamp automatically clears my playlist and starts playing the cd. In preferences I CAN'T TURN OFF the associate with audio cd's option. Every time I unclick it it just goes back on when I reopen preferences. The only solution I have seen here is to disable autoplay in windows completely, which I know how to do, but I don't want to do that. Is there anyway to stop winamp from doing this? I have the "enque as defualt action" checked, and also tried unchecking the cd box with the "register types on winamp start" unchecked.

thanks,

-Ed

Have you tried to un-associate the extension?
Have you tried to go to View>Folder Options>File Types (in My Computer, title bar), and get rid of Winamp from playing Audio CDs?
Find Audio CD and make sure nothing is there, like Winamp, check Winamp too. Hope that works. I did it backwards to make it work by playing cds using Winamp, and putting in a CD.
