capabilities function

Okay, winamp has never troubled me before but now whenever i try to play a mp3, it says that the file type isn't supported or it isn't translated/ It says I need to use a capabilities function to fix this. How do i get to that function?

Does this happen to only one mp3, or your whole mp3 library?
