How do I set Winamp as my default player?

Right click anywhere on Winamp, Options>Preferences (or Ctrl+P)
In File types, have all the associated extensions highlighted, and make sure you have check-boxed Register types on Winamp start. Close Winamp. Effects should take place when you restart your computer. |

okay, i went to options>preferences, then to file types, and it give me a list of a whole bunch of extensions, do i check all of them? and then im not finding register types on winamp start..

Which version of Winamp do you have? (hit F1 to see and check which version you have). Its best recommeneded that you download the latest version from http://www.winamp.com/download
Yes, you select all the file associations, and check Register types on Winamp start. Attached is a picture of what it should look like in Winamp2.78, and what is supposed to be checked/chosen. hmm, I'm wondering if you have Winamp3 instead.... |

okay, i got it figured out, i downloaded the beta version, winamp3, so thats why i had no idea what u were talkin about, but i downloaded the other one, and i worked fine, thanks for the info

I was wondering when I was re-reading your post.....now it makes sense! I thought I was going crazy over here with a weird problem!! BTW Winamp3 Beta 3 is still in developing stages, so its not gonna be set as default until the final release comes out later this year.
