Main sound garbled and twisted. Background loud!

All my mp3s, when played, are playing very oddly. It happened when I experimented with the different sound options on the presets list. The main vocal are barely audible. Almost sounds like a distant background noise. The harmony vocal are ridiculously overpowering, as well as any rhythm and backup melodies. I have tried clicking "none" on the DSP/Effect, and I have tried changing to Nullsoft Direct PlugIn. I clicked EQ off, and nothing has changed, no matter what the combination I use. I'm at a total loss for ideas here. Anyone got a clue to help? Thanks ~Nocturnia

:( Spoke too soon....

Fixing the wire connection helped, the main vocals are fine now, but there is still an echo, as if every mp3 were recorded in concert. Everything sounds live. How do I change the windows sound off "Karaoke" if that is what the problem is? I haven't checked it yet beacuse I don't know how.

Echo problem FIXER!!!

I had this same problem and this is what I did to fix it:

Double click on the little speaker icon in your system tray at the bottom right corner of your desktop - this should bring up the "Master Volume" window

In this window, click on "Options" - under "Options, click on "Properties"

Under "Properties, be sure that the "Adjust Volume for" window has "Playback" selected

Go to the window that says "Show the following controls for:" and scroll down and find the "Stereo Wide" option. Make sure that it is checked.

Once "Stereo Wide is checked, click on "OK"

This will take you back to the "Master Volume" window. Find the "Stereo Wide" control and either "Mute" it or turn the volume all the way down.

That's it! Play your Winamp files ECHO FREE!!!
I hope this helps!!
