problem with startup after hibernation in Win 2000

My computer usually manages to hibernate but with winamp running it crashes when windows tries to start up again. Total crash, keyboard + monitor off. Sometimes with a sound loop, indicating that it's quite far into startup before crashing.

Got an asus a7v motherboard + 256 mb ram.

seen a similar message on the boards but no replies. Would appreciate ANY type of reply, as long as it's serious.

Thanks in advance for your help

Did you read the sticky threads at the top of the bugs forum first?
Sounds to me like a problem caused by some dodgy 3rd-party plugin.
Installed any perhaps?

At the worst, it could be an incompatibility issue with the Winamp Agent...
that's if it's enabled ?!?! Is it?
(Listed as winampa.exe in Task Manager;
Enabled/disabled via Prefs -> Setup -> Agent)

We also need full system/hardware specs
mobo & ram aren't enough to go on.
CPU, Soundcard, Videocard, & Windows OS are also required.
Do you have all the correct & latest hardware drivers?

Winamp version?
(ie. are you using v2.79c and have you installed the official wa2update patch?)
Is any music playing on Winamp at the time (if so, what format?), or is it just sitting there idle?

By hibernation, you mean "sleep mode" / "low power stand-by" / "suspend mode" ?

What other programs are running at the time?
