Some people are sick. I wish there was some way to stop people like that, but there isn't.

Quote:
Germany already has strict laws governing the right to a gun, but experts say the country is awash with illegal weapons smuggled into the country from eastern Europe and the Balkans.

People wanting to buy a hunting rifle must undergo checks that can last a year, while those wanting a gun for sport must be a member of a club and obtain a licence from the police.
This is why I'm against overly strict gun control. It can tatke a year to buy a rifle, but that doesn't stop people from murdering. What good is a 1 year waiting period? It just pisses off normal people who want to own a gun for legitimate purposes. Criminals don't buy guns from gun shops.

This article is saddening. The world has become a shit place full of greed, jealousy, hatred and full of very evil people.

Today as i read the thread and found out that Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes had died in a car crash it made me think. People every day feel depressed for sometimes no apparent reasons, they fight and argue and do lots of bad shit and generally waste away their time day by day achieveing nothing. Its just hit me that all of these petty issues that affect us in our everyday lives shouldnt dominate us and stop us from living life to the full. From today im making a personal promise to myself that i will change and make the most of my days as tommorow could be the last...

You mean it doesn't just happen in the USA?

This is to show that this type of bullshizzznit happens everywhere. I can't stand to hear when other countries blame the tragedies of the States to happen as a result of how free we are, how "rebelious" U.S. teens are, and many more lame reasons. It's going to be interesting to see what the Germans blame this tragic incident on.

Furthermore, I'd like to point out that even though handguns are strictly verboten in England, armed robberies still happen. Gun control laws are too weak to trap the powerful, and more than powerful enough to trap the weak.

The British gun laws do not work because our law enforcement is a joke.

This is such a tragedy. My heart goes out to the people that were killed/injured at the school today. Is this the first school shooting outside of the United States (of this nature)? Just curious.

No.

There was Dunblane (in Scotland) in 1997.

None of those involved were teenagers though.

They were fucking infants (6-7 year olds).

Thanks RM. I am doing research on it now, and found this segment from an article on the recent school shooting.

death toll matched that of the 1996 shooting at an elementary school in Dunblane, Scotland, where 16 children, a teacher and the gunman died. Fifteen people, included two teen-age gunmen, died in the April 1999 shooting at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colo.

The kid / kids in America (last year was it) that gunned down fellow school mates was a really bad one. The kid idolised Hitler.
I find it really difficult how people can actually be convinced that evil scum like Hitler and other extremist people actually can do good society.

I disagree. You're right that eventually you will get a gun... but we shouldn't make it too easy for them, don't you think? Having almost no controls and restrictions makes them even think more that shooting people is OK. And that's where we get a tiny bit closer to the root of the problem..

(I still can't understand why it's so easy to get a gun in the usa... That's just my opinion though)

[edit]
Missy, that happend already twice here, once in Meissen, where a pupil killed his teacher and another one in Bayern. I learned about the second today.
These ppl are sick, really sick.
