The reports of my demise are greatly exaggerated ...

For the last month or two.., regulars to these forums have probably noticed the absence of their illustrious resident republican from these boards and late nite *******.

Late March, I was watching the A.I. DVD on my computer when suddenly the monitor went black. This surprise was followed by spark noises coming from my computer along with the light aroma of smoke.

I first thought a bug had crawled into the main power supply or something like that- but my tech support minded friend was able to rule that out. It turned out to be that the motherboard power supply had decided to go bad for no good reason at all. My whole computer was rendered useless by this.

Quite a technological tragedy- but also an opportunity- to buy a newer motherboard... and a pentium 1.8 ghz... and half a G of RAMBUS ram...

So my computer returns to its rightful place under my desk (You can tell it is the rightful place because there is a clean rectangle of floor space with no dirt or dust ). But more trials remain- I had to end up buying a new cable modem as well because the integrated network card on the new motherboard did not work with my older one.

So, 2 months and a grand and a half later.....

I hath returned.

Yeah... its been stuck in Medieval period for quite some time now...

I am in the process of straightenning out all my online things... including that. But I need to clear out all the SIRCAM viruses in my e-mail before anything...

He better straighten up, or it's off to the "Richard M Nixon Presidential Senior Citizen Work Farm" with him...

Jiminy! What a memory! Very impressive.

I have actually sold my intel along with a lot of other stock and have most of my money in metals at the moment... as the stock market has quite nasty of late.

Welcome back

Jean-Marie Le Pen in France, 3 BNP councillors got elected today in Burnley, and Xerxes is back in the forums.

Of the three, I know which will strike the most fear into the liberals amongst us...

There's no need to tell me when I'm right;
I operate on that principle exclusively and with absolute certainty

Mortality

Wow... i'm stunned...scared...yet touched... all at the same time. I can't believe you would really care about my absence... me. I exist as a spectre to all of you. I'm just a personality, attached to a screename... in a sea of thousands of anonymous monikers. A nameless generator of text that you happen to find half amusing...

Well this all comes at somewhat strange timing... as i recently had a close encounter with death of late.

I live with my backyard facing a street. Its mostly empty... people like to come down it going 50. Two weeks ago, sunday afternoon someone came across going 70 and crashed into the partition. It made a horrible noise- i simply had to go into my backyard ... and look though the shattered cinder block wall to witness a person lying on pavement in a pool of blood that surrounded his entire body. And the other body, hanging limp out of the side of the Chevy Tahoe- he was wiggling a little. But by the time I called 911 and returned, most of his blood had exited a gash on his head and was collecting in the cracks of the sidewalk.....and the gutter. He died in that short amount of time... just like that...gone.

But he ended up being the only casulty.

The next day I looked out and there were sobbing women and gangsterish skater teenagers there. I walked out and almost tripped on one of many virgin mary candles. The whole place in a DAY had been carpeted in posters...poetry...flower arrangements. His name was Luther... he was the star football player at the local highschool apparantly. Went too fast, tried to make a quick turn- and he rolled his fathers Chevy Tahoe. It mattered little to the many many teens who flocked to the site. It got quite popular. Eventually people decided to do away with posters and just wrote with chalk on to the opposing face of our wall. It got quite large over its 2 week existence. I couldn't walk to my refrigerator to get a glass of orange juice without seeing at least 2 teenagers praying or hugging or standing around, pacing and looking down. It was quite a draw.

And you have to wonder ... if you died at that very spot... would you get a vigil? Would people write poetry on printer paper and tape it to your wall? Would cars that pass by give you two short horn honks and a long one? Would they buy twelve dollar flower arrangements at the grocery store down the block and put them on the dislodged cinder blocks in your honor?

Would a person you said "Hi" to one time say a prayer for you?

I went out there once... to get a good look. Two teens in black were there praying. Quite solemnly... seriously. Then they lifted their heads and one walked over to me and asked if I had any smokes on me.
