Post your opinions of the Spiderman movie here...

Hey all. Saw Spiderman opening night. It was a pretty damn good adaptation of the comic. I didn't mind some of the changes made to the character, the story played out well, and was very over-the-top in typical Sam Raimi fashion. My only complaint would be that Spiderman and the Goblin looked ridiculous in costume when they were just standing around. Not really much could be done about this (can't put Spidey in black leather like the X-Men), but director Raimi did a good job of keeping them moving when in costume, which minimized the silliness factor. A big thumbs up from me.

It was good, although it folowed more along the lines of the Ultimate Spider-man comic, not the regular spider-man comic.

It was a fun movie. It was more modern than the comics or cartoons, and that generally worked well (except it made Mr. Jamieson an anachronism). The organic webshooter also worked better than expected. Some of the special special effects were better than most. For example, the visions Peter has as his DNA gets mangled were pretty cool.

Just got back. The best movie I've ever seen, until I see Attack of the Clones . My friend(who saw it with me) is really big into CGI, and can usually spot where they used CGI and where they didn't, had a shitload of trouble figuring out where CGI was used. some of the best CGI I've ever seen.

I liked it (just saw it for my today, even tho it came out on my birthday yesterday). Great effects, too.

His first little costume is hilarious.

And don't get me started on Kirsten Dunst...*melts*

I just got back from seeing Spider Man about 30 minutes ago. I thought the Movie was pretty tight. But, there was only two gripes I had about this movie.

1. According to Amazing Spider Man #1. Mary Jane was supposed to be killed when the Green Goblin threw her off the Brooklyn Bridge, which happened in broad daylight, and not in the evening.

2. Green Goblin was supposed to die in a building explosion way way later (Spectalcular Spider Man #200, I believe)

Also the part where he joins a Wrestling League to get $3,000 wasnt in any Spider Man comic book I ever read .

I loved it. The storie was great. Toby did a very good job. And to top it off Miss Dunst was in the movie. I thought the first cg(when he was jumping the buildings in broad daylight) could have been better. it just didnt look real at all. all the other cg's were great though.

It wasn't Mary Jane,it was Gwen Stacy(if my memory hasn't deserted me already).
If Mary Jane really died in #1, then who the hell did Peter Parker married? A clone?

Yes it was Gwen Stacy who died in the original Spiderman series. The movie used aspects of that plotline and mixed it in with Mary Jane instead of Gwen.

Also, Peter Parker becoming a wrestler and not stopping the burglar who ended up killing his uncle Ben were all out the the original Stan Lee storyline as well.

And as far as narrative plot goes the Goblin had to die because he knew who Spiderma was. Also, movies, while sometimes serialized as sequels, do not have the truly serial nature of a comic where a character or villain can continually re-cur.
