After working extensively on a friends Compaq I have come to the conclusion that Compaq keyboards suck ass, buy a Logitech.

Logitech keyboard's are nice. Currently I have an IBM one becasue it's really quite, but when I upgrade, I will get a logitech keyboard. Not one of the cordless ones, though. I hate them because they use batteries.

I had the same problem. If I remeber correctly (2 yrs ago), I downloaded some play/pause etc exe files for WA, then associated them with the keyboard inputs (in the registry). I fux0red it up first time, but got it right the second time

I've got a logitech cordless (I like 'em n_ick2000, sorry ) keyboard, and too my surprise the play/pause buttons etc. worked with wa2.x So maybe it's time to buy some quality stuff (j/k). Unfortunately wa3 doesn't support them (yet).

WinampTalk

This program by Merijn Bosma should help. Just assign one of the buttons to each command (eg. "c:\program files\whatever\WinampTalk /play")

Sorry, I can only apologise for being damn late on this one. You've probably already found a solution by now. I have no idea waht I did to make the link not show up (I most likely just plain forgot to type it ), I've uploaded the program to here: http://www.calumm.uklinux.net/media/temp/WinampTalk.zip for now though.

Again, sorry for being soooo late. I happened upon this thread while doing a search for something completely unrelated!, I wonder how many other times I've done stupid stuff like that and not realised
