my tcp/ip is set up to obtain an ip and dns server automatically, so will i have to make up an ip and dns or what?

Ahh... a dynamic IP. Try a dynamic DNS service.

http://directory.google.com/Top/Comp...Services/?tc=1

They will give you a host name that stays the same while your IP changes. It's good stuff.

ok, forgive me for being a dumbass, but ... i registered a new host on DynDNS.org, they gave me a host name w/ an IP address. Now, i'm not sure what to do. I tried entering the host address in the output config on the shoutcast plugin, but it won't connect. I also tried connecting w/ the IP it gave me in my TCP/IP config ... that also did not work. Please help!!!

leave the config alone. Leave Shoutcast alone.

Assuming you are running the server and the DSP on the same system nothing needs to eb changes. Just give out to your listeners:

http://FOOBAR.dydns.org:8000/listen.pls

ok .. the dns host it gave me is chloroform.kick-ass.net , so should i give out http://chlororform.kici-ass.net:8000/listen.pls - i treid that but it dosen't work
