Playlist, again
I would like to see ...
1. Relative Path Playlists Sometimes i am moveing things to other directorys and then all gets screwed up. It would be could if there would be some "relative path" to the mp3s. 2. Playlists of Playlists Something like a Book of playlists or such. When i am having lots of albums from the same artist, the i problably want to have all those albums visible when i want to here some tracks of that guy. Next day i maybe don't want to listen to him anymore, so i would delete all his albums playlists, to prevent pulution of my playlist view. It would be coll if there where something like a set of playlists which could saved as a collection or book or how you're calling that? _______________________________________________ Thats what i would like to see: Saveable Sets of Playlists with relative path |

1, so you want that winamp searches the disk until he founds the correct song, after you moved/deleted it?
2, Use the medialibrary for that, it isnt much hassle to add every album in a playlist of an artist... try it

To your devense my first post was 'a bit' confused - err yes. You're really don't have a clue from what i was talking about. I want playlists that could be in the root of a cd and they should have relative path attributes. So when i put a cd in drive d: and double click on a playlist it should work and when i put the cd in drive e: it should work too. Quote:

C:\MP3\1.mp3, and you save a playlist in C:\MP3, you want the m3u file to only link to "1.mp3" instead of "C:\MP3\1.mp3", correct? If I'm interpretting you correctly, then WA2 will save the relative path. I'm assuming it'll be ported to WA3 eventually. Quote:

I am relatively new to playlists because naigating directories in windows explorer is simple enough. However, to use Archos Mp3 player efficiently I will have to heavily get into playlist manipulation.
The first idea - add relative paths to a playlist - sounds good but it is not clear what do you mean by that. CDROM example: Isn't it possible to specify a relative directory already? Like ".\Sade\By_Your_Side.mp3", so whatever drive your cdrom is in the playlist in "." (root) will always access it? Moving files to other directory: How do you wish it to work? The most straightforward and simple way would be to remove these files from playlist and append them again after the files are moved. I don't see how this procedure can be improved. Second idea - Playlists of Playlists - This is so useful and obvious I wonder why this hasn't been implemented yet. (or has it?) |
