128, 64, 96, 56 are bitrates (kbps). There is actually no problem if your intro file is at one bitrate and your stream at another (at least listening with Winamp). The problem arises when there is a switch in channels (stereo/mono) which ends up making your stream play really fast or slow, or in the case where the sampling frequencies (44, 22, 11 kHz) do not match. When the sampling frequencies do not match the stream stops like you have described. In Winamp the sampling frequency is to the right of the bitrate box and usually is 44, 22, or 11. Check the sampling frequency on your stream and the intro file.
