want plugin to output ASCII file with levels from spectrum analyzer

It would be nice to have a plug in that would create an ASCII file containing numbers representing the levels of each spectrum analyzer frequency band at 30 fps. I would use this file (not in real time) to control certain aspects of animations created for the music. (color, size, motion, etc) This way, it would be easy to link a low frequency kick drum to one aspect of the animation, while also linking some higher frequency part of the song to another part of the animation.
I stopped short of learning C or VB, so I'm hoping that somoeone who knows what they're doing can modify one of their output routines to do this. The number could be ranged from 0-1 or 1-128, it doesn't matter, whatever is easiest. Variable fps would be nice, too, like in the built-in visualization mode preferences. Variable number of frequency bands would be good, too.
