Well, by now you all probably know what happened to me with that girl from school that broke my heart...but we are still goin to our social together(as friends..remember, she asked me), should I pay for her ticket to the restaurant??

I would personally pay for her, to show her what she is missing out on, although it could be interpreted that you are easy to screw around. To prevent this, simply pay for her, enjoy the company, but do not go out again together.

you know she may change her mind, and if you are a gentlman now it could payoff later. Or, you foot the bill and she (as most women) get what she wants', leaving you with the soggy end of the lolly pop stick.

As strange as this sounds you'd probably have a better chance with her if you DON'T pay for her. I personally wouldn't pay for her but I'd buy her an icecream after dinner

If you are comfortable going with her as a friend and know that`s where it stands, then I would at least offer to pay for her meal.(If we are talking average, not break my bank account type dinner)
Personally I don`t think I would be taking a girl that I knew was only going to be a friend to this type event. About like taking your sister.But I would occasionally treat any friend to a meal if I could afford it.

Doesn`t sound very good to me. Seems like even if you go "Dutch" you will be spending $40 to be miserable. And she asked you to go ? Why didn`t she ask someone she would like to have a dating relationship with ?
