good luck... i started my station by using a small cluster of cable modems which could support about 30 listeners at 32kbps. After four months of running I built up a listener base which now support themselves with bandwidth when neccessary.

You gotta put something into your stream before you get good things out of it. You can take the shortcut and pay for BW. Or you can put in time and it will eventually pay for itself with donations of money or bandwidth.

Knowing someone always helps but you will meet people through your station too, like i did...

Gettin bandwitch

ok, you say i can get free bandwitch, free server and all after 4 month of broadcasting ( i know what your saying ). can you say the steps how it's happen in order. Cause i dont think people will just give server, bandwitch and to the limit give money for my radio station. And personally, listening to 32kbps streaming is not helping the guy out to get some free thing and donation.

Again, my station started at 32k and has since increased to 160k due only to listener support. Im sure if you play the same crap everyone else plays except at 32k you wont get much support. You gotta find a niche in the radio market. We don't need another techno or pop top 40 station anyways....

Well, i'll try to start with 32kbps or 64kbps. I'll stream the best hits in *canada*, the top rap, R&B, hip-hop, and reggae ( Hehe, i love when girls dance that =) )
You say i need supporter ... can i ask you a favor ... maybe just put a little link, Help my friend out and listen to his radio ( will be mine, hehe lol ) kinda idea. Well, gimme some tricks to get my radio quick on and get fans, some little advice to get it on the right way.

Thank you again Amp

BTW, make sure you use a dedcated computer for your shoutcast stream and make sure its up 24/7. Thats the fastest way to build up listeners.

So basically, you want to play someone elses music on someone elses bandwidth and you don't want to pay for it?

Bandwidth is not cheap, regardless of your feelings on the matter. A 50 listener Shoutcast server at 128k is going to cost you in the region of $200 a month, and that's cheap.

You're basically asking for someone to donate $200 a month to you, and (maybe it'll be easier to understand if I put it this way..) that's shit, it's not going to fucking happen.

200$ ??? what the

i'm not "asking" to someone to donnate me 200$, i'm 14 and streaming, i dont want to pay 200$ per month for this. Sorry if i'm searching for someone generous and helpfull, people are asking money for every thing even bandwitdh. Hello, bandwidht is not even for surviving, or a computer game, toy or what else, it's a thing that make the listeners more happier, so you are saying that the guy will donate me 200$, and me what i am in that, what do i receive ?

donate people so saying 200$, that yes tho however the edge
nothingness arises in obscure intestinal but if germane that is
answered in toxicity of flatulence of output over maximum tenacity of course the virii could smooth the puncture...

I'll give you bandwidth on a few conditions.
Email me at p_hogan99 at yahoo.com (avoiding spam bots) if your interested. I've got a 700Mhz machine attached to fast cable connection (DSL Reports speed test clocked it at little over 400 Kbps).
