[yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave error ()

i ve just set up a shoutcast server, it is running behind a firewall on a 2M leased line, which is kindly loaned us by our district council. Ports 8000, 8001 and 80 have been opened in the firewall.

We are planning to webcast our FM RSL broadcast over the weekend.

THe webcasting is definitely working, but when i try to make the server public the error:
[yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave error ()

appears in the console, port 80 is definitely working because i can surf the web from the server, wot am i doing wrong? Is this ip related?

cheers

See the Sticky: post SHOUTcast Technical Support Links and Information: Read Before Posting

Look for the section...
Server and Shoutcast DNAS Issues -> Errors -> Fixing yp.shoutcast.com gave error()

um..yeah, i ve read that, and there is a firewall and we are using xp, the xp firewall is most definitely off. And the people running the firewall say that ports 80, 8000 and 8001 and open INBOUND and OUTBOUND. Plus I can surf the web from the server, am i missing something?

cheers

the firewall is using NAT, does that matter?

If you're behind a NAT you need to forward port 8000 to your machine and also 8001 if the source will be connecting remotely.

Try setting Yport to 666 in the sc_serv.ini and then restart the DNAS. Also post a link to the broadcast to see if we can tune in.
