Are there any plugins out there that enable the center channel?

I, too, have an Audigy with 5.1 speakers and was looking for something like this. I know Creative has CMSS (or something) which can be enabled from Playcenter, but personally, I think it sucks. It takes a lot away from the other speakers. Something that is adjustable would be nice. ANYTHING BETTER THAN CREATIVE'S VERSION!!

As far as I know, no, it's not possible with mp3 and most audio formats.
MP3 is encoded in stereo, ie. two channels.
Even when you play them through 4.1 speakers using DirectSound output, all this is doing is splitting the 2 stereo channels into 4.
5.1 is for multichannel audio in DVD's/videos/games/etc, not stereo music.

There are some sound cards out there that will make another cannel by combining the two stereo channels and using that for the center. My hope is that there are some software programes out there (or winamp plugins) that can do this with software.

Heck, mp3's are suposed to be stereo and yet they become 4point thanks to mirring the rear channels off the front.

Also dont froget that not all music is stereo or mono; there is dvd audo out there too.

Yes and no. Yes the Audigy supports A3D, but the plug in does not recognize the Audigy as a compatible card and wont let you use it.

Yes, you can have the center channel going, no you cant have them
all going at the same time.

The ideal thing would have all of the channels going at the same time.

thay plugin didnt work for my sound card at all. nvidia nfroce onboard sound. conected to 5.1 DD speakers. still no center channel
