Eppisode II

I can't beleive no ones brought this up untill now. Either way, i went to see Episode II just now, and IMHO, it kicked some ass, all i can say is Go Yoda Go.

I've heard from friends that it sucked though.. and that seemed to be the general opinion of the critics. What'd you think of the film?

It can't be worse than Phantom Menace.

I am going to go see it sometime. I haven't even seen Spiderman yet (although I will be seeing Spiderman this weekend). I'll go see Episode 2 sometime after that.

Great special effects... crappy dialogue... more great special effects... more crap dialogue... Boba Fett! (oh wait it's his dad or something)... blah blah blah... Yoda kicks ass (apparently)... the Clones attack... The End, feeling vaguely unsatisfied.

I'm gonna see it Teusday.

As for Boba Fett's dad: Boba Fett has very similar armor. Who the fuck dresses like their dad?!? Boba Fett = Geek.

I've seen it twice already. Once at the midnight showing (surrounded by a theater full of 200 HILLBILLIES!) And later the same day with only 40 hillbillies. I agree, it kicked ass. Yoda kicked ass, and--I have to say it--Hayden Christenson is hot.

my flatmate went to see it yesterday- he said that it was alright, because there were so many inexcusably rubbish bits, but so many really brilliant bits at the same time...

the fall of the jedi and the rise of the empire meant that a lot of the order and technologies the galaxy previously had were lost, so you'd expect 4-6 to be less futuristic- that's why there's all these huge beautiful vistas in eps 1 and 2- the world hasn't yet fallen to the degradation and corruption of the dark side.

or something.

I would have liked to see the Admiral Thrawn story told in a movie trilogy... much more than this prequel rubbish.

I personally found it one of the best SF movies I have seen for a long time. There were many continuity errors, and lots of mistakes in the special effects, but Yoda was top quality. I was desperatly hoping Samal L Jackson would say:

"Gimme my lightsabre, its the one with WHOOP ASS written on it"

hand me my lighsaber.
which one is it?
the one with 'bad mother fucker' on it

that would kick so much ass. i thought he did a god job, and everybody did, in general, a whole lot better of a job doing what they did in than episode 1

i am going to leave that run on, its funny. ok, nothing more useful to say.

Well, since this thread has returned like a bad ewok, I'll have to take back some (not all) of the bad things I've said about Lucas. I really liked Episode 2. Granted the acting is pretty bad and the dialogue pretty stilted, but overall it was tons better than Episode 1. I went in expecting to be totally disappointed and I wasn't. Not only were the action scenes good, but the political undertones, ie. the way (spoiler) Palpatine is using both sides of the war to further his cause and become Emperor.

*me crosses Lucas off zootm's list as well

BTW, zootm, have you seen the Clerks cartoons by Kevin Smith? There's a funny one with a court scene where Randall interogates Lucas about how bad Episode 1 is. The cartoons are on tape or DVD. The show got cancelled after 1 episode bc it was so raunchy.

Crazy about star wars Ep. 1&2??? Me not

Yo, party people, you must be american, to be so crazy about a MOVIE... It is just a ordinary movie IMHO. The only exceptional thing about it is, that it's a part of a great story (Ep. 4, 5 & 6), but as a single movie.... Nothing exceptional....
Here in Czech rep. what is considered as a "goodd american movie" is PULP FICTION . I haven't seen a better american movie than this, even it's soooo old (1994)

Who's Zed?
Zed's dead, zed's dead baby...

To all Americans: Don't be so crazy about normal things in life, it annoys a bit

How do they call the Big Mac? Big Mac's a Big Mac, but they call it Le Big Mac! LE BIG MAC?!

lol! no! i'm gonna have to find them now though, i love that film.

incidentally, two of my friends hated ep2, and are making a parody, at least they've planned to. they have a script and everything. i'm not sure "shaft windu" will go down well, however...

thats the point...it is meant to be part of a saga. only ANH can really be watched as a standalone.

Episode 2 was generally pretty good, but was boring a lot of the time if you see it two times.
