Who hates mobile phone ring tones?

Who works in an office or whatever, where everyone has mobile phones, and they all choose different, and seemingly the most annoying ring tone they can possibly find?

One of the girls here has the theme to "Black Beauty" - I hate it! And now, due to world cup mania we have every World Cup song under the sun being used.......

And who works in an office where your colleagues leave there desk, and they never take their mobile phone with them, and they always get called the instant they've left?

So post your most annoying ringtone here.....

New phones are coming out that can play real multipart melodies instead of the monotonic crap most of us are stuck with. My friend's phone has Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition - Promenade" as its ringtone.

Mine goes a little like this....

"Ring ring.... Ring ring..... Ring ring...."

Always know when it's my phone ringing in the office, mainly because it isn't a midi rendition of...

The Flintstones theme
The A Team theme
James Bond theme
The Simpsons theme.

Etc etc

Simplicity conquers all once again....

They all annoy me. All I want is a normal ringing tone, like that of a standard phone.

But no, no mobile phone I get seems to have one.

I love the Nokia ringtones, all the others suck.

At church a friend of mine is an idiot and never turns his phone on silent and I just laugh when it rings when everything is quiet.

I love ring tones, although some of them are pretty cheesy. I would love the Rhubarb theme tune for mine.

I hate the repetitive and musical ones. There are only a few that are good.

"Welcome to the Island of people who know too much."..."Did you really think balloons would stop him?!"
See what I'm listening too.

London Bridge is falling down....thats the most annoying ring tone.

I hear a bunch in the library, everyone has one of those idiotic things, they're supposed to be banned in the library, but people don't seem to listen with their head glued onto a mobile phone.

All the cell phone carriers in my family use the trumpet "cavalry charge" theme... its a military thing.

As I have said before, do you think when Beethoven labored for weeks to compose the 5th symphony, quite possibly the height of musical accomplishment in Western Civilization (due to its emotion and amount of variations of the main theme) do you think he ever imagined that a century or 2 later it would be reduced to a simple beep song used to annoy people into picking up a phone?

Same goes with Mozart's 40th- my IDIOT brother actually comes into my room with that playing and says "Wait that sounds like that one cell phone ring"

They are all crap. Every last one of them. My phone here doesn't even have a standard-sounding ring, though, just crap. I leave it on vibrate.

I usually hate all those crap-ass ringtones. They annoy me, too. But it makes it easier to know when it's my phone that's ringing because my phone is the only one around that sounds like a normal phone. Mine just goes "ring."

my old phone (qualcomm) had a ring that sounded like a sonar ping... it was simple, and VERY VERY quiet (most of the time, i could barely hear it coming from my own pocket)... but then the phone went into a coma (no joke) and had to be put down. so i got a samsung. it's got 15 musical tones, and maybe 5 real rings. and the 5 rings suck. what i want is a really simple, quiet ring, that i can recognize... you know that one ring that everyone seems to be using nowadays that basically is one tone just getting louder (riiiiiiiIING)? well, i had that a year before i ever heard anyone using it. and i stopped the second i heard another one. the only problem with it is that "disturbed" song "get down with the sickness" had a background noise in it that was exactly my phone ring, so every time i heard it i thought it was ringing...

i was just rambling wasn't i? i guess what i meant to say was, yeah, i agree. annoying ring tones are... annoying. yeah.

personally, i hate cellular/mobile/wireless phones, but in the short time the company i was working for required me to carry one i had it set to either vibrate (when it was physically on my person) or the "wild eep" as stolen off of my mac classic (thank god for wave-enabled cellular phones) but none of thedefault rings were even slightly acceotable, they were all a damned sound.. why can't someone make a phone that rings?

I'm not a big fan of cell-phones. Well, actually, cell phones, being an object, are neither good nor bad, but I do have issues with a lot of people who use them. It seems that too many people forget to turn off the ringers in public places or, worse, talk on the phone while conducting a transaction in store or something (incredibly rude to the cashier). I'm with Atmo, i dislike being able to be contacted anywhere. I don't even answer my home phone half the time it rings.

Well, sorry for going off-topic there for a sec. On-topic, most of the rings are annoying. Hopefully there will be trend towards change sometime soon.

Xerxes, it seems that all great art in the 21st century gets reduced to advertising and soundbites. Oh well...
