Shareware Skins

Hi Guys!

I'm Visiting Winamp Site For More Than 2 Years But Still Now I Havn't Found Any Shareware Skins. But There Is A Lot Of DSP Plug-Ins Are Available As Sharewares. What Does This Means? Are We ( Skinnerz ) Less Talented Than Those Crazy Code Writers? ( Programmers Forgive Me ) I Think Skinnerz Are Spending Same Time And Effort As DSP Plug-Ins Writers. But We Publish Our Creations As Freeware. Can't Those Code Writers Make Their Creations As Freewares Too?

How About, Instead, We Start Publishing Our Skins As Shareware. Because People Really Do Send Money To Shareware Authors. I Know I Do. Cuz If It Tells You To, You Have To, Or Really Bad Things Will Happen.

Isn't It Terribly Hard To Type Like This? I Know It's Really Hard To Read. At Least You're Not Writing In All Caps.

You're all slow catchin on mates. All my skins have always been nick-from-under-your-nose-ware. They collect all credit card details and bank records and nick yer money. Watch the rush to delete them now

shareware is shareware, but programming probably takes more patience than skinning. On subject, its much easier to program shareware protection into software than into a graphic... in fact, i cant really think of a way of doing it without a plug in. And i guess if people wanted the money, they would sell the skins. We do it for the skins, shareware programmers do it for (sumtimes fun), but mainly the profit. What im trying to get at is its all too complicated and id rather have thousands of downloads than some money... hehe

a true word is spoken, but some $$ is kewl , so if I would get $ 0,25 for every time a skin has been downloaded I would be happy (but only skins that get rated 4-stars or more by the staff)

....
simon get his calculator
....
....
that would be $ 63.321,75

It's nice to see all you guys like to publish skins as freewares. Yes a true artist never sells his art ( Then what about the auctions ? ) If you like to make some protection you don't have to use a plugin to veryfy your serials of any other way of registration. Just save your BMP's in LWF ( Lurawave Format ) Enable the password protection, reduce some quality if the image is viewed without the password. Then for clear viewing you can ask some $$ from users and mail the decoding password. Then the user can use the password to decode the image with full quality. ( User must save as the images in BMP format before using them )

It's bit hard to do this. But it is easier than coding a protection plugin

skinning for money would be fun, but im sure ude get a deadline of some sort if you did, they wouldnt wait for you forever plus they would run out of money even if it was like $0.01 per download, figure the amazing amount of downloads on winamp.com...
