"Error Opening ACM stream" again!!
I'm bothered of this. I've checked out some messages which explain how to get rid of this error. I've followed what people told, but again the message.
I deactivated the Creative MP3 codec (that is supposed to have been installed with the Soundblaster Live! drivers), and then allocated the Fraunhofer codec on first row in the audio codecs list in Control Panel-Multimedia. However the error persists. First of all I run the ShoutCast server, whose event log is: Event log: <06/14/02@15:19:31> [SHOUTcast] DNAS/win32 v1.8.9 (Mar 15 2002) starting up... <06/14/02@15:19:31> [main] loaded config from C:\ARCHIVOS DE PROGRAMA\WINAMP\SHOUTCAST SERVER\SC_SERV.ini <06/14/02@15:19:31> [main] initializing (usermax:32 portbase:8000)... <06/14/02@15:19:31> [main] No ban file found (sc_serv.ban) <06/14/02@15:19:31> [main] No rip file found (sc_serv.rip) <06/14/02@15:19:31> [main] opening source socket <06/14/02@15:19:31> [main] source thread starting <06/14/02@15:19:31> [main] opening client socket <06/14/02@15:19:31> [main] Client Stream thread [0] starting <06/14/02@15:19:31> [main] client main thread starting <06/14/02@15:19:31> [source] listening for connection on port 8001 Then I run Winamp, with the proper plug-in already selected. And when I double-click the shoutcast source and press on Connect, the message appears again. I'm sure my IP address is correct, and I've selected the port 8000 and the password "changeme". The source format and attributes are: MPEG Layer-3 24kBits/s 22050 MHz Mono 3Kbps, and I got a cable modem up to 300Kbps. Anyone could find out what's going on? |

error opening ACM Stream
I was very bothered by this error also...
Here is how I fixed it. Get rid of the creative codec, I removed it completely from my system Install the windows media resource kit 7. Choose reninstall all. Make the Fraunhofer codec #1 and be sure use this codec is checked. go into the Format options and choose your MPEG layer3 bitrate. I nelieve that is all I did to fix it. If you need the wmrk7 let me know! vB |
