winamp 3 practicality

just wondering: at wa3's current stage of development, is it practical for a normal (ie non-developer, ie me) user to download and use it? in other words, is the functionality up to a level where it's worth it for me or anyone who just wants a good media player?

it's good to just mess around with, not quite as good as wa2 yet (1/2 the skins will work on beta3, the other 1/2 will only work on the current developmental beta)

will it play mp3s? and will they sound decent? will it play shoutcast? what's this ogg vorbis thing everyone's been talking about? who shot jr? can i use the equalizer? where in the world is carmen sandiego? can i use the playlist? can i use the vis?

these are just a few of the questions i want answers to. keep 'em coming (thanks bh)

As for Carmen Sandiego, i never did find her in the world at school, but i did find her in time!

As for the other q's i don't know as i never trust beta progs (its just me - i'm paraniod)
