Winamp Issue !

hello,

My name is adam if you have not guessed already, and i have a problem and that problem is that i have 2 sound cards a good one and a ok one that is on the motherboard, i have a 4.1 speacker system hooked up to my SB Live card and have no more outputs left, i have a extra set of speakers and want to hock them up to the old soundcard and use winamp to output to both sound cards ? is there plugin out there or something ?, i went to control pannel and was able to swich soundcards throught the output device setting but can only select one at a time, i also had 2 winamps exe running one set to sound card 1 and the other to sound card 2 and they both were playing to the soundcards but there was a dely due to the fact that i can't press play on both of them at the same time ?

might i suggest you visit one of the forums on the top section of the forums menu... the ones with words like "tech" and "support" and "winamp"?
you might get more help that way.

The output splitter here may work...
http://www.adcock8.freeserve.co.uk/winamp.htm
I don't use it myself, just pulled if off another post by Winsane so it may not be of use for what you want (http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....iple+soundcard)
It allows you to run two output plugins at once, so just direct one to your primary soundcard, the other to the secondary, you probably won't be able to configure both outputs to directsound because I doubt they will be configured independantly

The soundblaster Live! series have two outputs though, and the Platinums have even more.

Why was this moved here from WA2 Tech forum?

Anyway, you don't need any extra plugins to do this.
Just run a 2nd instance of Winamp and change the output device in the output plugin config to use the onboard chip driver instead of the soundcard.

Further help/instructions here:

Multiple wa2 installs

Eggy, he tried that. He got a slight delay, because he couldn't get them to play in sync. The plugin stackers already suggested should do the job perfectly.

Doh! So he has. I've just read his post again... properly this time, lol
Didn't realize he wanted it to be playing the same music in sync on both devices at the same time.

Yes, the output splitter should work perfectly for this

Here's another plugin similar to output splitter, except this one allows for more than 2 at once:

Output Stacker (use multiple output plugins together)
