Infared Remote Control

Is there any chance that the new version of winamp might have remote control capabilities. Would love to be able to operate it via and infared device, ie: pda with remote control. Anyone have any ideas if this is possible?

There are other plugins with similar functionality. A simple search in the plugins section of Winamp.com for "infrared" will yeild more results.

I'm un-installing Sawg 2.0 from my comp and installing rm.exe. Does anyone know where I can get a serial number for rm'bot 3.0?

Now this sounds really cool. But what do you buy to get your computer to recieve the remote signals? I assume some type of infrared interface, but where do they sell those and can you be guarentted it'll work with a universal remote?

You can get infrared "eyes" that plug into the serial port, USB port, or onto motherboard headers (if your motherboard has them).

Just go to any reasonable electronics store (like Maplin, Conrad, or Tandy) and they'll have a whole array for you to choose from.

There are some audio cards which occupy an entire 5.5 inch bay on your comp that do have and IR 'eye'.

I've got a SB Live Drive, which has the IR thing on it, other than slowing my computer down, it's a great card
