Got it to work...
I got outside connections in to recieve the stream now, for others with adsl modem routers, I found that the DMZ needs to be set to the michine running the server, then save and reboot, after that set up port forwarding, I have a dynamic ip from my isp, but my modem steals the ip since its a router type modem, so port forwarding alone wont do it and assiging a static ip on the local machine wont do it, but the DMZ did the trick, by enabling DMZ and giving it the machine or local ip...
Since DQ Visionnet is so sweet as to give a bunch of useless propoganda for FAQ and user manual, which amounts to nothing more then sales hype, and totaly useless meaningless info, and a help file with even less than nothing in it... The modem is a good one BUT, plan on writting your own manual as you go if you need to get one of these things.... DQ Visionnet 200 E/R and E/S.... Not all dsl modems will be as bad hooking up, this is an adsl ehter router modem, and has built in to it an admin interface utility and bios with no information other then just enough to connect a single pc and view a web page... the standard modem cant do the lan without a router hub or a hub and router setup, and would take alittle more work in doing if you leave everything dynamic, so its wise to set the lan up static, or everytime time you reboot you got to do it all again... As for what DMZ stands, I can only say in Nam it was called the De-Militarized Zone, that was the place where all the armies were doing all the shooting and bombing, and it seems the dsl modem is not much different, all the bombs land there, you got to catch them and send them other places... Tom and the rest of you guys, DQ Visionnet FLUNKS the $2 user manual test, and should be sent to visit this forum for about 5 years to see if they can learn how to offer a usefull hint...... Anyway Tom, I still cant get past the rebuffering after 2 minutes of connect,,,, I put the stream buffers up and down on both ends and still no improvement,,,, over 15 to 20 minutes the lag gets so far behind its crazy then it catches up and cuts 5 to 10 minutes out so its back to 2 minutes.....(Ill put this part in a different topic so if there is a fix others can see easy too) |
