NSIS / zip2exe overview for newbie

I am totally new to NSIS. I can program scripts. I can run zip2exe, but how do I program scripts for handling zip2exe ? I cannot find an overview anywhere. I want to make an installer for a VDF application with 100 plus files in a directory with 6 subdirectories. I made the zip like that, but now what ?

I'm not sure if I've got what you mean exactly but you may be interested in the mod of Zip2Exe that exists called Zip2Exe IO. It's due to be placed on my archive site soon but the author is on holiday at the moment.

Basically the IO mod allows you to add your own NSIS script code to an installer built using Zip2Exe, is this what you are looking for?
