DBZ skin's own section for skin searches!

I think that the winamp website under the skins section should give DBZ skins it's own section, where you can only find DBZ winamp2 skins! I think it's a good idea, because there's a HUGE ammount of DBZ winamp2 skins. I think the DBZ fans have earned it, making amazing looking DBZ skins that compare to many other great winamp2 skins. Thanks for reading my concern.

99% of those skins are generated with skinner.exe or some proggie like it.

I've seen DBZ mentioned here before. What the hells is it? I'm thinking a WWF wrestler, a TV show about badass kungfu fighting chicks with tight tops and big boobs instead of muscles, I'm thinking a boy band for the slightly older market, help me out here...

anime based on a longrunning manga series, main character is an alien (monkey), who was sent as to earth as a kid to take it over, but he became a nice guy when he bumped his head, and now saves the day on a regular basis, it's kinda like a animated soap opera with kungfu and weird hair. it was very loosly based on a chinese myth about a monkey king the one which also spawned the tv series monkey magic

Actually, I've been thinking about this for a while now. It's kind of in the same vein as the original post, so I'll mention it here:

I've thought about it for a while, and I think it would be a really good idea if I had my own category. It would be easy to implement - all the skins made by me would go into one category - situated somwhere near "top staff rated" "most recent, etc. But, if you can, please don't make the font on the link so small like all the other links, I think that font size is crappy. Make it a bigger link than that please.

Man, I almost needed binoculars - that's how far off I saw that one coming from

/////By the way, if you don't like the idea, just say so - but don't make a joke of it, please - because I'm quite serious.

*shrugs* You don't have to like anime, any more than I have to like Britney, or some of the other subject matter people choose to skin - but saying "they all suck" doesn't make ya any better than the people who review skins with 0 stars "Britney sux0rz!" or some such nonsense. Most image skins are skinner.exe skins, but I've seen a few really nice ones from the people in this forum, each deserves to be judged on it's own merits. Sorry dudes, not trying to be belligerent, but as someone who worked for a Japanese anime site (DBZ actually) and made a few non-skinner anime skins (and watched them get lost in the dreck too), that irritates me.

Anime doesnt even deserve its own category IMO, its too narrow a description anyway. But to make a specific DBZ category is rediculous.

And you know what, if I've got anything to do with it, it won't have it's own category before to long, I've proposed that the "anime" section gets renamed to something like "cartoons" or "animation".

, yah, point and blame me, see if I care

Well... if it's inteded for other ugly american cartoons as well as for ugly american japanese-looking cartoons, I guess it would be better not to name it "anime"

Many who live deserve death, some who die deserve life - can you give it to them?
Then be not so quick to deal out death in judgement.

They can easily go with all the film skins - and anime skins can easily live with other cartoon/animation skins. Now that I think of it, though, an arthouse film category would be pretty cool. That way I'd be able to find an arthouse skin that wasn't my own

(But fat chance of that happening, since it seems that they won't even give my skins their own category. Humphf! )

dunno why, but seems to me that a large percentage of people who come into the forum and whine are anime skinners/fans. that and the fact that i find an obsession with a cartoon rediculous make me dislike these people who are all hard core anime.

Ah, here we go, this is only the fourth time this week I've had to give my anime argument:

1. Anime exists because it is an art form.
2. Anime is often judged by the likes of Pokemon (gag) and Digimon (puke). These are a few Americanised cartoons that are no longer considered anime.
3. An animation MUST, I repeat MUST, be owned by a Japanese company to be considered "anime". If it is not, it is a "cartoon".
4. Saying "all anime sucks" because of a few examples is just like saying that all women are whores because you see a few loose women i9n the world. (bad example, don't kill me)
5. Before I take seriously any comment made by certain nameless forum browsers, I should expect a list of anime series which they watched. But since this is probably not going to happen, I suggest that all commments made by laymen just be ignored.

And, oh, yes, I don't want to see this again:

but you gotta admit, at the moment, Anime skins are getting pretty special treatment. I mean, anime get their own category, but bugs bunny, matrix, austin powers, kieslowski, frankenstein all have to share a category. Of course, this is a good thing, because no doubt if it wasn't like this, everyone would be complaining about the hundreds of anime skins clogging up the movie category.

Anyway, a DBZ category is going a bit too far.

Sow a thought, reap an action; sow an action, reap a habit; sow a habit, reap a character; sow a character, reap a destiny.

Look, winamp.com isnt an anime site, it just has a category that all the cartoon skins go into, which IMO is incorrectly labelled as anime.

I actually enjoy anime, i like neon genesis evangelion, and watch dbz occasionally (I find it humorous, but addictive), but do i think it deserves its own category? no. Anime has a niche market, and those that like it love it and those that dont hate it. That doesnt mean that it still deserves its own category.

Anime is after all, japanese cartoons. Does that mean we should make a category for american cartoons? Or australian cartoons??

A single category named cartoon or animation would suit best, then theres no complaints that a few american cartoon skins are ruining the precious anime category.

I know that, but I'm sick of people like Blackdog insulting anime when they haven't probably watched any quality anime. Even I haven't seen every anime series out there, but I don't go around judging a book by its cover and a few front pages.

[edit]I wouldn't mind if it was labelled "animation", because that would be correct. Please stop posting right before I do, Atmo, it drives me nuts![/edit]
