Angry Dynamic ComponentText ?

Hi Everyone,

I just want to know how to write a multilanguage installer. It simply means the installer will ask the user to choose from English and Japanese language, and then the installer will display English or Japanese messages/text/pompt during the following installing procedure. So I guess the static "ComponentText" attribute cannot be used here. But what should I do? Can anyone help me?

KiCHiK is currently working on this kind of thing, I'm sure he'll respond to this thread as soon as he can. I think his language support is a work in progress that will rapidly evolve (he seems to be happy to put a fair amount of time into NSIS code development).

Thumbs up Thanx

Thanx Sunjammer. I guess that's just the way that goes.

Download NSIS 2.0a4. Write your own Japanese NLF (NSIS Language File), send it to me if you want to include it in the next version, load it from your script (using LoadLanguageFile), and use ComponentText /LANG=**** to set a different text for each language (insert a language code instead of **** [English is 1033]).

Currently the user can't choose which language he will see, the installer uses the default he selected in "Regional and Language Options" control panel, or the first language specified in the script if it can't find the user's default.

If you do want the user to be able to choose his language go vote in the survey. You can find a link to it in this thread.

Hi kichik.
How do I sent my own NSL to you?
And, how do I define the language ID in NSL file?

Hi matini,

Please send the file to kichik@users.sourceforge.net.
The second uncommented line in the NLF defines the language.
Japanese is 1041.

Sorry... I mean how to know the ID of a specific language.
After translating the nlf file(in Traditional Chinese), I tried
some of my nsis scripts. The installer was created successfully
but I got some warning messages while compiling.
code:

9 warnings:
unknown variable "\r$\n$\t"$0"$\r$\nÂI¿ïabort¤¤¤î¦w¸Ë,$\r$\nretry*«¸Õ¼g¤JÀÉ®×," detected, ignoring
unknown variable "\n$\t"$0"$\r$\nÂI¿ïabort¤¤¤î¦w¸Ë,$\r$\nretry*«¸Õ¼g¤JÀÉ®×," detected, ignoring

Could multi-byte word cause these warnings?

To get the language identifier you can use the utility I attached.

You are the third to show me this warnings. I have no idea where they come from I have never been able to recreate them either. I am still working on it =/
