pretty upsetting!!

I know this is probably old news, but I just installed the "lady dancing" plugin for the first time and I had to say something. If people don't complain, then spyware will only get more and more intrusive.

I felt pretty good about Nullsoft before, but not anymore. The language I would use to describe them now would be pretty harsh.

So after having to clean out an amazing amount of spyware junk from my windows folder and registry, I am very annoyed. I'm even more upset that there might be more junk left over that I am not aware of.

Wild Tangent, stay the hell off my PC.

Nullsoft, you can make your money however you like. But knowingly mass distributing third party spyware on your own website without clearly labelling it as such to an unsuspecting public is pretty low.

like this type of thing is unique, there is alot of software that gives out spyware. I just deal with it, who needs a lady dancing plugin anyways, it's a freakin' player.

Sounds like you are content to let spyware creep into more and more kinds software. Not me.

I made my one time complaint. If enough people do it, maybe software companies will notice and do something, or maybe not.

Beats just staying quiet and accepting it.

no I just think there is nothing I can do to stop it other then not using the app, which is what I usually end up doing. That is the only way to stop it. Bitchin' about it will not start or stop anything, actions speak louder then words.

You should be using Ad-Aware v5.83, if you're not already, and run it at least weekly, to ensure nothing "extra" is on your PC...

You should be avoiding WildTangent and those ridiculous dancing lady plugins like the plague anyhow, try something like AVS (built into Winamp) or MilkDrop to see a good visualisation.

was the plugin made directly by nullsoft or a 3rd party? if not its not thier fault, also, AOL is gay, any annoying stuff blame them

I'm fairly sure WildTangent is another company altogether, it's not Nullsoft's fault if people who make plugins put spyware in them.

And I repeat: avoid WildTangent / dancing plugins, they suck...

Seems like everyone these days has a vendetta against AOL too, I just avoid them too

Yes, it's the WildTangent plug-ins that are spyware, not Winamp.

The reason I was unhappy with Nullsoft is because I think they know this and still have it available for download on their site.

WA3. I am upset that with all the hype, WA3 turns out to be a buggy incomplete piece of software. I are not impressed with the icons, give me build 486 back anyday.
