WA2 subtleties not in WA3, as well as a 3 techincal issue
Hey, I'm loving the new Winamp3, but when I started configuring it, I noticed a few of my favorite 2.x subtleties were missing.
1. The ability to control the mini-visualization in the main window. I really liked cranking it up to 70fps, thin fire-bands, and no peaks. I can't seem to find this functionality in 3. Was this intentionally left out, or and oversight, and any plans to restore it in a later 3.x release? 2. The ability to change which icon was used in the system tray. In addition, I an inundated with a plethora of errors upon starting WA3: Studio.exe - Entry Point Not Found The procedure entry point ?onChan@BaseWnd@@UAEHD@Z could not be loacted in the dynamic link library common.dll. ...and many others along the same lines, with only minor differnces in which (entry points?) are being called. The don't appear to hinder the functionality at all, other than I have to hit "Ok" something about 10 times before using the program. I apologize if this was already addressed in some of the documentation, or another part of the forum, as I haven't read many of the available resources yet. But I just got the software like 10 minutes ago, after all. ;-) Anyway, thanks in advance for any comments or suggestions. -Grish |

Moved from GD
Moved to WA3 tech support Use the SEARCH function 1) Not available yet, first order of business, get a stable product out the door, second order, add the eye candy 2) Pretty much same answer as above, WA3 currenlty only has one icon available. 3) Ensure your installation is done from fresh, totaly delete any old versions, also ensure any skins you have are designed to work on the final release of WA3,official skins here. http://www.winamp.com/skins/ Skins from anywhere else might not work on the new build of WA3, trust only official sources. |

I have that same problem with the studio.exe errors upon startup. Winamp works fine after all of that crap but it's still annoying. It even did it on my newly built system with a fresh install of XP with absolutely no traces of any version of Winamp whatsoever. Anybody know what's wrong with it?

Like I said, it does the same thing on a FRESH install of WindowsXP with no prior Winamps ever installed on the harddrive. There wasn't an older version of Winamp to uninstall first.

try a full re-installation...
un-install winamp3 delete the winamp3 folder (save official skins as needed) re-install winamp as per usual if that doesn't work.... then you should probably run a scandisk and a virus scan for virus' that damage and infect DLL files. |

But, just to be sure, does that mean there are plans to add that functionality in later? |
