Winamp 3 won't recognize my files

Hello
I've been using Winamp 2 for a while with no problems. When ever i get a new mp3 file i rename it. I don't bother with any file extensions. When i drag and drop files into Winamp 2 it has no problems detecting the file and playing it but with Winamp 3 it won't play any of my files. Is there anything i can do to remedy this without haveing to go and add a .mp3 to all names of my mp3 files. I would like to use Winamp 3 if i could solve this problem.
Thanks,
bharris

For the moment Winamp3 has difficulties reading mp3 files that have other extensions.
Maybe this problem will be solved in the future.
For now the only solution is to put mp3 extension to all your files.

renaming

Look for a program called "wild renamer" or "wildren". it does batch jobs of renaming, and i think you would just add the .mp3 extentsion on to the original file name.
BTW, why don't you use extentsions?

I had a feeling that would be the case. Oh well I'll try and find one of those programs. I should have been using file extensions anyway. In the back of my mind i knew it would cause problems at some point. I didn't have any great reasons for leaving them off.
