Station title problem (please help, it's probably easy to fix)
I am having another problem with Shoutcast, I decided I don't need the song name in the title, just the name of my station, but for some reason I can't get the station name to appear, it keeps putting in the songs name, and I am pretty sure i have it set not to though. All I want in the title is "SCR: Sonic Club Radio" (that's my station's name) I don't want anything else in there, just that name, oh and another problem I am having is it keeps putting the description things in there like " <> ", does anyone know how to fix this? This is the last thing I need to know how to fix before I get my station running, so someone please help soon, this problem seems simple enough to fix, but I can't figure it out

I am not sure there is a reliable way to do this from the server side. You could try using DESTIP to bind to your outside IP and then use a local address in the encoder like 127.0.0.1
Or just find the 1.8.0 encoder and use it that will allow you to uncheck the Title song. Most of the customizing you want to do with how the listener sees the station name is just something that is not configurable from your perspective. It is how Winamp as a client chooses to display it. To get the effect you want reliably go to preferences -> input -> MPEG Encoder -> Streaming and in the tab click disable SHOUTcast title streaming. Exactly why are you trying to do this anyways, it seems kind of odd, as most webcaster want title streaming to work? -Jay | Radio Toolbox.com |
