ok - winamp3 seems to have problems with naming title tracks off of album. it seems that if the title and album name are the same, it reverts to naming the song by its filename
probly best if i give some examples: Filename: Avalanches - Since I Left You - 01 - Track 1 ID3v1 Info: Title: Since I Left You Artist: Avalanches Album: Since I Left You Playlist Displays: Avalanches - Since I Left You - 01 - Track 1 Filename: Fingathing - Superhero Music - 14 ID3v1 Info: Title: Superhero Music Artist: Fingathing Album: Superhero Music Playlist Displays: Fingathing - Superhero Music - 14 on winamp 2 this was displayed normally. it only has problems with title tracks. if the trackname is the same as the album name, the playlist displays the filename and not the ID3v1 or 2 info... there ya go

Thought I'd just give this a bump by saying I've noticed this too.
Filename: Red Hot Chili Peppers - Blood Sugar Sex Magik - 10 - Blood Sugar Sex Magik.mp3 (long filename as part of an archive ![]() ID3 Artist: Red Hot Chili Peppers ID3 Album: Blood Sugar Sex Magik ID3 Title: Blood Sugar Sex Magik ID3v1 Track#: 10 ID3v2 Track#: 10/17 Entry shown in playlist and in winamp: Red Hot Chili Peppers - Blood Sugar Sex Magik - 10 - Blood Sugar Sex Magik |

*Bump*
I've done some research, and it seems Winamp3 does not like displaying id3 tags correctly for tracks that have the same name as the album. If a track name has the same name as the album (there is usually one for every album,) instead of correctly displaying the track info from the id3 in the playlist, it instead just displays the track name. I hope that helps, and hopefully this is a minor bug that gets fixed in the next release. -J! |
