Stolen Road Signs
While I was in Ireland earlier this month some of the road signs amused me so much that I considered stealing them... sadly the car I took isn't really big enough to put them in.
Why do I tell you this, you are asking? An article in Today's Times... http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article...396257,00.html I'd have ended up with a slap if I'd ever tried anything similar! |

i have lots of road signs... no serious signs like stop and speed limit, but all crazy ones like fresh oil and slippery when wet.

I've got a bunch: Stop, Ped Xing, a street name sign, and some more I don't remember.
I've always wanted to rip off a ski lift "Prepare to Unload" sign - it would look good in a guest bathroom. |

Are you guys single?

about the only fun i've ever had with road signs was to "aquire" enough traffic signs to set up a rather odd intersection at the end of the beggining of a driveway to a friends cottage, the road ends, and three driveways all branch out at 90degree angles, making it look like a fourway stop. Aquired for the purposes of the fun were a:
all three signs were aranged at the end of the lane on private property, the stop sign is on the property of his neighbours property right before the road ends, and the remainder of the signs are strategicly placed so they look like they pertain to the "intersection". When ariving at the end of the lane it looks to the uninformed motorist like it's impossible to turn left, turn right, go straight, or turn around... and yes, people have actually backed away from the intersection.. it's amusing to watch. |

The only sign i have stolen has been a for sale sign off a house. We still played baseball with it (using some satsumas as balls).

I've put a "WRONG WAY" sign out in the middle of nowhere. Specifically somewhere along the road with the cornfields while getting lost driving around Sleepy Hollow. I've left my mark with a snatch and run of some corn. It was worthless, since it tasted like plastic - too hard. And on the sign, I actually put 2 of them, back-to-back on one side of the road on one of the hills. You can't see over the hill, so you can't tell if it is safe to enter or not. Parked on the side of the road for a few minutes, of the cars that did come around did turn around. And because of the blind spot of looking over the hill, someone who didn't "obey" the sign went on and almost crashed into one person that was making a Z-turn to go the other way back. Whoops...
A very close Japanese friend I knew a while ago once said to me "Watashi no koto wo oboeta, onegai shimasu...Yakusoku?" I forgot his name though... |

As ludicris as it may sound, it works just as good as a "DO NOT ENTER" sign.
