Help!!

Arghh!!!

I'm new to this skinning malarky and have downloaded everything i need to start skinning... Help!!

I would really appreciate some tips from the pro's can anyone help??

Best tip:
Look and try. Download a skin you like, open it in winzip, extract the files it contains, open the files with any painting program (even MSPaint does the work) and see how they are made). Everytime you find a effect you don't know how to make, open the skin and look, you'll learn some tricks.

Just make a folder with the unzipped files under winamp/skins and start playing with the bmp files. Keep winamp running, and as you update your files, go to the winamp menu and re-choose the skin you are working on, and you will immediately see the changes you have made!
