media library

im having a problem with refreshing my media library... i really cant. ive been correcting/creating id3 tags and the like and it doesnt update automatially, only after i select all and reload info. but either way when i close it all resets. it loses my sorting, and puts in files that no longer exist or that i had told it to remove from the library. is their a "remove nonexistent files" like WA2's playlists? is this happening to everyone or what the heck is going on?

yep, kinda sucks...lol... had to update all my tags. Had the ID3v1 tags done before WinAmp3, thats how I had them organized, but WinAmp3 uses ID3v2 tags for the media library... and I either didnt have them tagged that way or they were wrong or whatever, any way redid 7000 mp3 tags cleared everything out of the media library and reloaded it. Works fine now, I am just sure my ID3v2 tag is correct on all new ones coming in before I bring them in.

i dont think its that because i have at least a majority of my 450+ mp3's with ID3v2 tags, and even when i clear the whole list i hit the media library again and it loads i think every mp3 i have even if i dont want it in there and ive deleted it numerous times before. the whole point was i was trying to redo all the tags, correct them, and make them sure that theyre v2. well whatever i think ill do all v2 tags and see what happens with it

i have the same problem.does not update deleted files, or updated ID3 tags, and seems to put doubles in of some songs (the first one in each album perhaps?).if u cant b bothered 2 read the thead above, basically until this is fixed to update delete the folder "/db" when winamp is closed then open winamp and load all ur music direcory(s) again.c above thread for the program 2 rename tags and convert between v1 and 2.
please try searching for topics before posting as these forums are extremely busy at the moment.
remember that this was a rushed release, and so it is still quite buggy. just b patient and wait for nullsoft to release another version.otherwise use v2 (2.81 was released about a week ago).
