CDDB Help

I've already looked in the other tech support section and none of the posts deal with Winamp3.

I put the audio CD in my drive (but I can't set it to autoplay because of some weird hardware problem), select the .cda files from the CD drive (I do this using the add file button), and when the files load it does not access the CDDB. It worked once, with Ant-Flag's Underground Network CD but none after that. In the prefrences I have everything enabled that deals with CDDB, but it still does not work. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be or what I can do? I think it may be the fact that Winamp doesn't recognize it as a CD...

Maybe you should load the CD this way: Right-Click in winamp3 main window, Play-->Audio CD X: [X=CD Drive letter] Choose the CD-Rom with the Audio CD in it.

I don't know if this will work or not, but it does for me.

Thank you so much for this - I couldn't figure out why this wasn't working in Winamp 3! Right clicking did work. Is it a bug in the program that won't allow the CDDB to happen automatically?

It's not a bug - this also happened with Winamp 2.x. Standard audio CD's automatically load into the playlist, and the CDDB database is searched. However, with multimedia CD's, the type with extra video clips and such, this does not happen, as Windows is unsure which program to open the disc with.

Thanks for clarifying. Question though- this is a standard audio CD with no videos. However, I just started having this issue when I upgraded to XP. I know that Winamp 3 is compatible with XP, but could there be an issue with upgrading from 98 to XP that makes recognizing the audio CD an issue? It does automatically PLAY the CD, it just doesn't automatically query the CDDB.
