Problem with language

When I add to playlist songs with russian filename, they names looks like something unreadable. Is there any language pack with support of russian language?

Non-English filenames not supported in main window, but in playlist window all OK, as well as russian filenames. On NT-based systems it is necessary to change this registry key for proper look of russian filenames in playlist (as well as russian names in ICQ windows):

no it doesn't. i've got WinXP and have already changed 1251 & 1252 to c_1251, but got nothing

There should be Russian language support installed and selected codepages 20866 and 20880 via "Control panel - Regional and language settings".

Re-check language settings. This is the only problem of yours. Because I have the same OS installed and have no problems on post subj.

i've tried everything, but it does not work! this makes me crazy! i've got XP Home 2600.xpsp1.020828-1920. i've added both variants (with MUI and without) and nothing happened... i dunno what else should i do... maybe that's because my system is originally english and i only enabled support of cyrillic-based languages...

I have the original English Windows XP with cyrillic fonts and the only thing I have to do is periodically replacement c_1251 on c_1252 and backwards. Can you see and type cyrillic letters in command console?

So, you CAN see cyrillic fonts in winamp PLAYLIST correctly. In main window it is impossible to see right encoding, unless you use special plugin (i do not remember its name, if you need this I can tell you tomorrow

no. i SHOULD see them correctly. i'll run a couple of tests today(i'll try to rename files from winamp3 and see whether they r shown correclty in other programs (WMP, winamp2, etc.), coz previously i had problems)

Internationalization support is supposed to support Unicode (UTF-8) characters. But this feature is still experimental and VERY buggy and causes other major problems most of the time. Your best bet is to completely uninstall Winamp3 and then reinstall again but WITHOUT Internationalization support.

The developers are completely aware of the problems and are currently working on it. These are KNOWN bugs and is also the reason why, during Winamp3 installation, the option for Internationalization support is NOT checked off by default and is listed as "Experimental". In other words, "Use at your own risk".

First, if you enter anything into a text-box press enter after you do.
After you change preferences wait a while before you shutdown.
After you shutdown wait a while before you start up again.
Also, make sure studio.xnf (in the Winamp3 directory) is NOT set to read-only (Right Click > Properties).
Also, remove (uninstall - reinstall or delete the wac) Internationalization support. That breaks almost everything.
If none of that works, it is still a bug.

International character support?
Winamp3 has an option to install Internationalization support in the installer. This works with Unicode (UTF-8) characters. Be forewarned that this feature is still experimental.

Thats because the tags are not in unicode. And the font used by winamp does not have characters outside of the English codepage. In winamp preferences, turn off bitmap fonts..they'll look ugly, but it works. Then as long as your regional options are set right, which seems to be the case, then it should display correctly anywhere in winamp. However, wmp9 is fully unicode compliant, and with the right codepage it would also display the ansi codepage dependent tags correctly..since they don't come out right, seems like there is something wrong with your tags. Right click on the mp3 and go to properties, and see what it shows for the tags.. If you don't see Russian there, then 1. they're not tagged correctly or 2. your regional options aren't right (which does not seem to be the case since you can see them in the command prompt).
