An icon as in one for your desktop? or an "icon" representing an avatar or something?

If you want to change it to an actual file icon, you need to grab a program like Microangelo or IconX (I hope that's still it's name).

Sometimes I worry about you guys. And then I look inside myself and realise there's more to worry about here.

have you actually got the program yet? it should be pretty self explanitory - draw in the space provided - its kinda like paint, and then save it as an icon. hopefully it isnt too confusing - there are only two other file types you can save it as.

you can make icons in MS Paint, just make a 32x32 bitmap, then change the extension to .ico

hehe, it doesn't really matter cos i use microangelo anyway, but it's a just a quick an easy way i found to make them with standard software, i mean if it works, what difference does it make?
although, saying that, i once had all the icons on my computer change to my home-made icon of gwyneth paltrow crying, although i can't be sure that's what caused it, since i've seen some erratic, temporary, mass icon changing a couple of times, with no apparent help from me. |

Get Axialis AX-Icons. It's an old app, designed for win3X, so it won't have your fancy XP styling, but it can open icons, dll's and exe's and replace icons within exe files. Yes, my Winamp currently has the RealPlayer icon. Kidding, don't flame!
Edit2: Now called IconWorkshop. Edit: corrected link. www.Axialis.com and1k I would thank you kindly not to sniff my chicken |
