Post Mass Editing of ID3 via Media Library

It would be really nice if we were able to edit large amounts of MP3 ID3 tags at the same time via the Media Library. For example, if I selected the Artist 'Airosmith' I could change all the songs to 'Aerosmith' and it would update that field. You could change album names similarly. Song names would be a bit more tricky, but if you had selected a list via the 'Search For' field, you could change the song name on each of those songs to be the same. It would be remarkably helpful for creating accurate ID3 tags.

Thank you,
Chris Murphy

Cool Not too tough...

Not sure about doing this in the Media Library, but this, and more could be done with a stand-alone program written in VB or Delphi.

I use and recommend "Dr Tag" for mass renaming: available from

It's still a good idea, though.

External dedicated programs are probably the best option at the mo (or maybe MoodLogic?), but these require manually updating of the library afterwards. I'd really like to see an "AutoWatch folder" feature in Winamp3 that updates the library automatically when we use an external ID3 editor (or add files with an non-winamp ripper).
