i have a question

ok i have seen answers to this but it still won't work for me.
i'm looking for winamp2 skins, i even go to the big 2 in the corner and i see all of the old skins but whenever i download any of them they show up as winamp3 skins. did they change all of the skins to 3 or what. or am i just being myself and missing something?

you have to rename the skin extension to .wsz (it should be .wal)

then you will have to move the skin to your winamp 2 skins directory (usually C:\Program Files\Winamp\Skins)

then it should work

turn on file extensions, they are most likely off.

easy answer.

put ur skins folder (the thing with the bmps, or put ur skins .WAL file onto ur desktop (click and drag from folder to the desktop and drop it)

then do the following:

go to start menu>run type "cmd.exe" without quotes
a box opens, type "cd desktop" without quotes press enter
then type "ren <filename>.wal <new filename>.wsz" without quotes and without arrows, press enter

then u have ur skin in .wsz form

heres an example

start menu -> run -> cmd.exe
cd desktop [enter]
ren Skin.wal Skin.wsz [enter]

its that easy

I think you could do its as a batchjob aswell

just:

ren *.wal *.wsz
