Well, me problem is this: I'm using Winamp2.81 and every time i open winamp to listem to songs while I'm browsing the internet, My internet 'dies'. It totaly stops responding and i cant find or open any more sites. Then as soon as I close winamp, everything jumps back to life and works again like nothing happend. It did this with earlier versions aswelland it realy bugs my. I don't know if it is my computer my Internet connection or winamp, or even if it is all three. I whould realy appreciate it if anyone could help me on this problem I'm having Thanx!! |

1) Winamp -> Prefs (Ctrl+P) -> Setup
Uncheck: Allow Winamp to report anonymous.... Uncheck: Check for new versions.... Checkmark: no internet connection available 2) If you've installed any, remove any 3rd-party plugins, particulary any General Purpose ones (gen_*.dll) 3) If the problem persists, unintall & reinstall Winamp Link You should also install the official wa2update patch for the latest versions of the default input/output plugins. 4) Still no joy, provide all relevant system specs: CPU/RAM, sound/video cards, connection type/speed, Windows OS, browser+version, a list of all other concurrently running software/processes. |

ok, I tried the first few things you said, but with no success, it still doesn't work.
ok, I've god a real old PC and here is my specs *166Mhz PentiumI chip *48 MB RAM *Yamaha OPL SAx full duplex sound card *S3 Virge DX/GX 4MB *56K modem conection, I don't believe the connection speed, but it says its 112.5K, but it doesn't feel that way *Using Windows 98, and Internet Explorer (the one that windows comes with) I think it's verion 4 *Apps runnig are Winamp, Ineternet Explorer, MSN Messanger and with all that, when Winamp is open, the the Internet 'dies' I don't know if it could be the cause, by I have a home network, and all my Mp3's are on another computer and I play them from there, so couldn't it be a network conflict between the LAN and the WAN? Hope all this helps! Tell if there is anything more you need |
