I read the FAQ and did not see anything about directory syncronization. This is also posted for WinAmp2.
I think it would be awesome if WinAmp would have an option to automatically refresh its playlist to match the files actually in a directory every min or so. That way you could have a playlist linked to your downloads directory and whenever you downloaded a song, it would automatically show up in this play list. Similarly, if you had your playlists corresponding to physical directories on your drive, you could simply drag files into those directories, without touching WinAmp, and the playlists would be updated. I realize that some people have directories with large amounts of files, but there could be options on how often to do this. (on start-up, every few min, etc.) It could also be separated into the syncronization of individual directories and/or playlists. Thanks, Matt |

I think that the DB should keep track of what directories you've added files from, and have a "rescan" option that 1) checks for dead files in the library and 2) adds new files in those directories.

i have a huge directory of mp3s with different subdirectories....
so a directory syncronization feature would absolutely make life much easier.....i'm not all into media player-style "media libraries" since they are a fuss to manage....so a recursive directory syncronization is definitely the answer for me.....and it's not even that hard to implement proramming-wise anyways (i think)..... |

I've always wanted a feature like that ... never actually thought about requesting it though. It would be SOOOO handy!
