pauses in radio playback
I get these millisecond gaps on playback when listening to the radio which really blow a good song. I had the latest version installed with the same thing and am now trying V2 to see if it is a fix (it ain't). I've got a really generic dell P3-500 with onboard sound, 128Mb ram, etc. The connection is dsl through a router. I am the only connnection and no other programs are running. There is almost nothing installed on the pc as I only did a clean sweep a little while ago. The truly sad part is it plays the windows media player with no prob (as well as cd's etc.). I really don't want to go back to windows media player-please don't make me go there!

Try increasing buffer sizes.
Prefs (Ctrl+P) -> Plugins -> Input -> MPEG Audio Decoder (in_mp3.dll) -> config: Streaming tab: Increase Streaming data buffer/prebuffer sliders. Prefs -> Plugins -> Output -> DirectSound -> config Also increase buffer size here (don't go too high though). |

Tried that thanks. Unfortunately still has same prob (I also tried this in Wasabi). I noticed it doesn't do it on all stations. Just the ones I happen to like-bad karma??).One thing I forgot to mention is I'm running win 2000 pro. 128mb RAM yada yada.
One easy question for you while I'm at it is how do I get to your response without doing a search? When I came back to the site it said 'no replies'. I found your answer when I did a search later on. Cheers again eh. |
