A plee for info/help!!!
Hello everyone
I'm posting to either get someone to help me out or at least give me some info...I just downloaded this skin, and I love it and all, but I really want to change the colors on the play, pause, etc. buttons..I DO NOT want to republish this skin as my own or anything after, I want to do this for my own personal enjoyment, I just want to change them to primary colors, like a red, blue, green, yellow, etc.. nothing complex...so my question is, would someone be willing to do that for me? or tell me how I might do this??? |

rename the WSZ file to ZIP
extract the files find the button you wanna change (probally in the cbuttons.bmp file) change colour ZIP it up change the ZIP back to WSZ load the skin. NEVER publish this skin anywere on the net tho. have it for your personal computer only. Or Mr. Jones will get ya!

As long as it's for your own personal enjoyment I see no reasons not to tell you:
Browse to your skins directory (usually C:\Program Files\Winamp\Skins) and find the skin in question. Create a new directory in your skins directory and call it "skinname-changed" or something so you can tell it apart. Now rename the Skin from "skinname.wsz" to "skinname.zip" (You may need to look in your folder options to display file extensions of known filetypes... to show the .wsz bit). Now open it in WinZip or another archiving utility. Extract all the files to the directory you just created. Now you'll see a lot of .bmps in that directory. To change the play, pause, etc. buttons open cbuttons.bmp in your favourite image editor. This file contains pressed (top row) and unpressed states for the previous, play, pause, stop, next, open/eject buttons. Just recolour the buttons. Save the file (as cbuttons.bmp). Load Winamp and press Alt+S (to see the skin browser). Select the name of the directory you created in the skin list, et voila. // FINE, Rean beat me to it. I said to create a new directory because Kazaa often shares .wsz files and we don't want his adjusted copy on the net. |
