files don't start Winamp3
Hi
Since I installed winamp3 I cannot automatically play an mp3-file in winamp just by double-clicking on the file in a folder. When trying, all that happens is that winamp starts but does niether load nor play the file. Strangely enough, this problem does not occur with wav-files. Also, the "play in winamp" option that you normally get when right-clicking on a mp3-file doesn't show. I have tried to uninstall, reinstall and installing in admin mode (I use win2k). Please help becuase this sucks Last edited by suecito; 11th November 2002 at 17:42. |

I'm having the same problem as well, and hopefully someone can help us with this. Although I do get the "Play in Winamp" feature when I right click on a file, not sure what the problem is with that. I use Windows XP Professional.

The same for me
I have exactly the same problem. I've seen it's been a recurring problem for months, judging by old posts I've checked. And of course no answer. Thanks God I kept my good old Winamp 2x, I'm going to uninstall this "wonderful" Winamp 3 and get back to the old one. I'll try again in some months.

I managed to solve my problem. I simply had to go into the folder options and again reference mp3-files to winamp. For some reason mp3-files lost it's affiliation to winamp during the installment of Winamp 3. Hope this might help you.
