@*!!$?!& Windows XP

Sorry for such a blatant newbie question, but having just downloaded Winamp and uninstalled Real One, I'm having all sorts of problems making Winamp as the default media player, when streaming off the web.

I can't find an option anywhere in Windows that allows me to alter the default. The support centre is unsupportful when U wish to replace an windows program. Advice please and have a place in my heart...

Cheers

Next time, don't download, install, or view the Real Network's site.

Re-install sorts it as well. You should have had a gui come up asking you if you want to set winamp as defalt.(I did withall the re-installs I had to do cause of a prick of a sound card).
It should have overwrote to default though. did you un-install real-one first? or after install?
there's a shortcut through properties as well now where is it anyone know?I know there is one but I have'nt used it for a while.

does anyone here know what they're talking about anymore?

lol

Yea if you enable winamp agent, it'll keep other programs from stealing winamp's filetypes...those bastards

I think the file extension for shoutcast streams is .pls (if you click a link on a site). The pls file is actually just a link of sorts to the server's IP.
