CD audio will not play

I installed Winamp 3, but I prefer 2. Now when I try to play a CD in 2 the CD is recognized, but I am not getting any volume. I do have the Wav out output selected. Associate with audio CD's is checked. I can get volume from Winamp 3 and from Windows Media. Can someone tell me what has happened?
