Trying to start a station but having problems with my router settings

I have used Shoutcast before, but I recently got a router for online gaming. I'm using a Netgear router and I try to change my port forwarding settings, but shoutcast still can't connect to my computer. Here's what I've done so far

Under the PORT FORWARDING SETTINGS OPTION
-my server port is set at the default router address given in the instruction manual (Do I need to change this to my computer's ip address?)
-my start port is set at 8000
-my endning port is set at 8001

I have tried almost everything. People keep forwarding me to a vague cookie cutter post that won't help. I need someone that knows what they are doing. Everyone's routers aren't the same, yet some people post fixes like they are. Please, I've done just about everything short of dissconnecting my router. Thanks

Your Shoutcast server should be set to accept connections on the IP address of the server it's installed on (probably 192.168.x.x), not the router(24.x.x.x or whatever it may be). Secondly, check to see if you have TCP and UDP forwarded, you may have to have them both. Let me know if this helps.
