is there any(fast) method to rip audio out of vcd

hi,
i want to rip out audio from video cd's.
is there any way other than playing the VCD's & recording with some other tool.
this method is very slow & difficult to set the volume to the appriopriate level.

VirtualDub

On the VCd open the MPEG file:
/MPEGAV/AVSEQ01.DAT (or somthing like)

File > Save WAV
